DESCRIPTION
The Blouch Dominator 2.5XT-R Ball Bearing Turbocharger is a stock-location upgrade for WRX/STI owners who want a turbo that hits hard in the midrange, spools quickly for its size, and keeps pulling up top on a properly-supported EJ build. Blouch rates the Dom 2.5XT-R at 490 HP capability and lists key specs including a custom low-friction, low-inertia ceramic ball bearing CHRA, a high-flow 60mm turbine wheel, and a 71mm XT compressor wheel flowing 49 lb/min.
This turbo can be configured to match your goals with 8cm or 10cm turbine housing, optional Coated turbine housing, optional 3" inlet compressor housing, and a required oil feed line selection (WRX vs STI). It’s also supplied as a complete bolt-on style package with items like a braided stainless oil feed line, oil feed restrictor, oil drain tube, coolant lines, and turbo mounting gaskets, and includes an adjustable upgrade actuator that Blouch notes is pre-calibrated to 15 PSI unless otherwise specified.
WHY
The Dominator 2.5XT-R is a great fit if you want a turbo that delivers a broad, street-friendly powerband while still offering the airflow headroom to support a well-built EJ setup. The ceramic ball bearing center section is designed to improve transient response and “snappiness,” while the 60mm turbine and XT compressor combo is aimed at building a strong, flat torque curve that doesn’t fall off early.
