The IDoing head unit is a full plug and play solution that features a 9" display. It is a great way to add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to any 2014-2018 Forester. Apple Carplay and Android Auto are now made wireless!

All OEM features are retained such as the steering wheel controls and backup camera. 

The head unit comes with the Google Play Store pre-downloaded so apps like YouTube, Clash of Clans, Amazon Prime Video are available to be played/watched on the head unit.

There are tons of audio settings to mess around with and the head unit is compatible with aftermarket subwoofers, speakers, amplifiers, etc. An IDoing head unit is recommended for all Subaru's with aftermarket audio upgrades because the OEM radio is not built to handle the improved performance. Great, But...

The iDoing headunit is great, except it needs an Android firmware update to be able to TURN OFF the radio completely and leave sound for map directions. I have to program a steering wheel button to change mode to video so I can use Carplay map voice directions without the Fing radio on.

When doing the changeover just keep in mind that you need to keep the starlink portion for all the speakers to work if you have the harmon kardon upgrades as well. The lack of instructions made that unclear but besides that, everything you could possibly need is included!

Beautiful look, Simple install

I bought this for my wife to install for her birthday while she was gone, because she keeps complaining about her car not having car-play. I have no experience removing or installing anything like this and I was able to do it before she got back from her vacation while taking care of our 1-year-old daughter. It looks great and was simple to install - Definitely recommend!

Transformed my interior

Things I wish it had: user installation guide (either through YouTube or in a manual. It also could have come with a diagram for what cables/connectors do what. I used about 4 separate YouTube guides to get mine installed and have it feed video from my backup cam. Some are better than others. It was a pain to get the old vents transferred over to the new panel, but that’s more of a Subaru problem than a problem with this device. Also wish the screen wasn’t so bright even on the lowest setting for nighttime driving, but I hear there’s a way to install something on android devices to make it dimmer.

This transformed my interior experience and I can finally listen to music for more than 5 minutes without dropping my Bluetooth connection or the head unit crashing. The stock one should be installed in every high level employee’s car at Subaru corporate so they suffer for making such a terrible brand selection. What an absolute POS that thing was. My sound quality is way better even with the base-model speakers in my 15 Forester. Overall a great upgrade worth the money.
